Tuesday Tune-age: ‘Twas the week (or two) before finals…

More new songs than old this week, I do proclaim! Check out what’s kickin’ this week!

 1. Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa – Payphone
It took me a few listens to really get into it, but let’s face it: Adam Levine has one of the best pop-jazz voices in music right now. Personal bias aside, Maroon 5 is a heavy musical force, and has been since 2002 when “Songs About Jane” exploded onto the scene. I absolutely cannot WAIT for their new album “Overexposed” in June! Get your summer speakers ready, people!

2. The Shins – Simple Song
A great song for any indie-hipster fix, The Shins add an ethereal sheen to their alt-rock sound.

3. Steve Kazzee & Cristin Milioti (Once the Musical cast) – Falling Slowly
The soundtrack to the recently opened Once the Musical on Broadway is full of the happy and sad emotional turmoil that makes such an indie darling an instant favorite. Plus, the cast’s voices are absolutely incredible together – do NOT miss out on this album!

 4. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Look Around
The latest from the time-tested funk rockers, frontman Anthony Kiedis and company still know how to make a kick-ass dance-rock track.

 5. Nicki Minaj – Roman Holiday
This song is a little strange, a little catchy, and a whole lot of everything that makes Nicki Minaj so fascinating (and slightly overbearing) these days!

 6. Adam Lambert – Trespassing
The latest single off of his upcoming release this May, the 70s-rock, syncopated dance floor feel is perfect for the Idol alum.

7. Usher – U Don’t Have To Call
I couldn’t help myself. I have been jamming to this song all week since I saw a drag performer belt (rather, lip sync) it out last week. You can’t help but dance to it!

Throwback of the Week: Soul Decision – Faded

Ohhh yeah, that’s right. Get dirty with this little old pop ditty – you didn’t think I could go a full week with a new playlist and NOT add some 90’s flair, did you?
