To make up for last week’s absence, here’s your double-sized dose of some pretty kickin’ music! Post your comments and suggestions below…you know the drill!
- Chris Brown feat. Kevin McCall – Strip
We all know that I’m a sucker for a sick beat, and Chris Brown always knows how to lay smooth lines overtop of them! The background may be cliché, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get down to it!
- Jack White – Love Interruption
The new solo album from the male half of The White Stripes is just as soulful and intriguing as the man himself.
- Demi Lovato – Give Your Heart A Break
Lovato is good at breathing out anthem-sounding songs, and this is no exception.
- Civil Twilight – Anyone Out There
Haunting and slightly mysterious, this is definitely an ensemble to look out for.
- One Direction – What Makes You Beautiful
Okay, I’ll bite. After listening to this up and coming boy band’s debut release “Up All Night”, they have the potential to make it big in the teeny-bopper scene. (Albeit, I will always be biased to the Backstreet Boys/NSYNC generation in which I was born…)
- Dave Barnes – Mine To Love
In a mix of Jason Mraz and John Mayer, this crooner is softly soulful, providing the perfect sing-along song.
- Angels and Airwaves – Everything’s Magic
A throwback to the middle school years, Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge’s other band is just as catchy (with a more space-age sound) as the pop-punk ensemble.
- Carly Rae Jepsen – Call Me Maybe
Another nod to my pop music roots, this is definitely the track you won’t be able to stop singing! (A boost from uber-pop star Justin Bieber can’t hurt, either…)
- Lenny Kravitz – Fly Away
Taking it back to the wee years of early morning VH1 videos, this song literally can’t be more rockin’ when it comes to ‘90s post-grunge.
- Korn feat. Skrillex – Narcissistic Cannibal
Continuing their electro-rock style, Korn blends easily with these crunching, crashing beats.
- Jason Mraz – I Won’t Give Up
A feel good romantic song is always needed from week to week, right?
- The Good Natured – Skeleton
With an accented flair, this indie ensemble mixes eroticism and electronics to make for an intriguing dance track.
- Breathe Carolina – Sweat It Out
The perfect blend of melody and machine-masked screams, I literally cannot stop listening to this song.
- Journey – After The Fall
One of my favorite bands growing up, you literally should not be able to stop listening to the glory that is Steve Perry’s voice. Seriously, it should be a crime.
Throwback of the Week: Good Charlotte – “Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous”
If you aren’t dance-thrashing to this huuuuge pop-punk anthem, then you’re probably wrong. Ahh, this really takes me back…
