Tuesday Tune-age: Back from the (Sun-Soaked) Dead!

I’m baaaa-aaaaack! Spring break has flown the coop and it’s that time…”NO. SLEEP. ‘TILL FINALS!” (I couldn’t resist the Beastie Boys fix, you know?)

Here’s some tunes to get you going this week!

1. Fitz and the Tantrums – Moneygrabber
Finally got a listen on these guys, and yes, they’re just as great as everyone says! Check them out!

2. The Civil Wars – Poison and Wine
Slowly but surely falling in love with this duo. Their soft, haunting harmonies floor me…definitely put this on repeat!

3. Foster the People – Helena Beat
I know, I know, I’m a little late on this one, but that hasn’t stopped me from pressing play on this track off of the monster album “Torches” for the past few days!

4. Tick Tick Boom (Original Cast Recording) – Come to Your Senses
You know I had to throw a little Broadway in there, right?! A song off of RENT maestro Jonathon Larson’s other musical, this song is the perfect mixture of struggling simplicity that makes his music just so damn good!

5. Carrie Underwood – Good Girl
Underwood has always been able to nail every single with her powerful growl, and this ditty is no exception! Girl power, people!

6. LMFAO – Sorry for Party Rocking
I had to…because it’s spring break.

7. Kajagoogoo – Too Shy
What, an 80’s throwback?! Don’t mind if I do! Excuse me while I go feather my hair and throw on some legwarmers.

Throwback of the Week: Hall and Oates – “Maneater”

While roadtripping back to college, my friend and I blared this down the highway, snapping and singing as loud as we could, full-out Caucasian girl style. Watch out boys…
