Tuesday Tune-age: The Second Set!

Tuesday Tune-age: Week of January 31, 2012

1. Grouplove – Tounge Tied
An infectious, keyboard-driven tune, the melody behind this Grouplove track is one that will be stuck in your head all day. Seriously.

2. Breath Carolina – Blackout
With synthesizers and metallic vocals, Breathe Carolina’s techno-powered chart-topper is a pure dance track that can energize just about anyone.

3. Glee Cast – Smooth Criminal
In one of the most captivating covers from the cast’s upcoming tribute episode to Michael Jackson (tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox!), the cello arrangement mixed with a fierce vocal duel between Naya Rivera (Santana) and Grant Gustin (Sebastian) has easily become one of my favorites of the week.

4. David Guetta feat. Usher – Without You
This song has been out for a while, but it never ceases to make me want to jump up and down when the chorus comes around.

5. M83 – Midnight City
A recent discovery of mine, the plinks of the keyboard and rumbling baritone are a nice escape from the typical synthesized beats.

6. Drake feat. Rihanna – Take Care
Drake is riding high in the hip-hop/mainstream crossover world, and pairing him with Rihanna never fails in attracting fans and record sales.

7. Crossfade – Prove You Wrong
Making its way up on the rock/alternative charts, Crossfade mix nice melodies and driving guitars nicely.

Throwback of the Week: Justin Timberlake – Rock Your Body.

Okay, I know, first NSYNC, now Justin? I know, I know, the 90s were “forevvvvvvver” ago, but I couldn’t resist…especially on JT’s birthday! Happy birthday, Mr. Timberlake/my very first celebrity soulmate! 😉
